IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Pocket Edition will be DISCONTINUED as of the
27th edition. In the redesign process for our Content Management System, we expanded our database to
include addtional information for each grade - including Whiteness, Roughness, Gloss, Certification, and more.
In order to fit all of the addtional information, we had to print our 8.5 x 11 Competitive Grade Finder in a
landscape (sideways) orientation. We simply could not fit this information in the Pocket Edition, so we opted
to sell our full-size edition and include online access with each subscription. This will assist our customers
that need to access our information out of the office.
All "Pocket Edition" user will find that the new Competitive Grade Finder satisfies your needs. We do have a few

Included in the All New 2007/08 Twenty-Seventh Edition:
The Pocket Edition is an extraction of the Competitive Grade Finder Section contained
in the Paper Buyers’ Encyclopedia. The Pocket Edition has been redesigned and slimmed down
for increased portability and easier storage. The new print layout includes the essential
competitive grade information including grade name, brand owner, finish, and target brightness.
FREE Internet edition. The new directory will offer the "best of both worlds," - a portable
print edition and a full Internet Edition that includes all of the extended brand information. The Internet
Edition has also been redesigned and includes new search features along with the additional information.
Competitive Grade Finder Section
This most valuable section lists grades of paper in competitive classifications.
All papers having similar brightness and opacity ratings are grouped into their
proper categories, such as No. 1 Bond, No. 1 Xerographic, etc. Over 6700 mill and private
brand Sheet & Web Printing Papers, Business Papers, Recycled Papers, and JCP/GPO Specification
Papers are included. Many government and private bids will not be accepted unless
the particular grade is listed in our directory.
Alphabetic List of Companies "Where to Buy" Section
This section contains an alphabetic listing of all Mills, Converters, and Merchants
that have grades and advertisements listed in the Competitive Grade Finder. This
listing includes the company names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, and extensive
personnel information.
Grade Classification Index
This is a excellent index for locating any classification of paper found in this
directory. Each classification is indexed several different ways. For example, Premium No. 1 100% Cotton Fiber Bond is listed alphabetically as shown, as well as No. 1 100% Premium Cotton Fiber Bond, Bond Premium No. 1 100% Cotton Fiber, and 100% Premium No. 1 Cotton Fiber Bond. Adjacent to the alphabetic listing is the page number where the classification is listed in the grades section.
Grade Finder Alphabetic Index
This section lists all of the grades of paper alphabetically by their brand names.
Also, included are the manufacturer's name and the page number where more detailed
information can be found.
Advertisers Section
contains multiple ads from mills and paper suppliers, many listing locations, and
distribution channels.
